History Of The Estes Valley Board of REALTORS®
The Estes Valley Board of REALTORS® received its charter as The Estes Park Board of REALTORS® on November 17, 1971 from the National Association of REALTORS®.
Prior to that time, the Estes Park REALTORS® met twice monthly with the Loveland Board as a committee. In 1971, the Board had 25 charter members representing 10 real estate offices. Wendell Harding served as the first Board President, John Ramey as Vice President, and Michael Marden served as Secretary-Treasurer. The first “Charter Party” to celebrate the Board’s acceptance was held on February 3, 1972, at Nicky’s Restaurant in Estes Park.
The Estes Park Board of REALTORS® became the 24th Board of the Colorado Association, and is part of the Northeast District of the Colorado Association of REALTORS® along with Boulder, Fort Collins, Greeley, Loveland, Longmont, Morgan County and Logan County.

In 1980, with membership needs and services increasing, the Board opened an office and hired an Executive Secretary 3 days per week to handle the necessary tasks. Presently, the Board employs an Association Executive who works 25-30 hours per week. The Board office was created to serve as a central point of information and to manage the day to day operations and Board activities.
In 2017, The Estes Park Board of REALTORS® changed its name to The Estes Valley Board of REALTORS® to be more inclusive of its neighboring communities of Allenspark, Big Elk Meadows, Drake, Glen Haven and Pinewood Springs. It currently has 73 REALTOR® members and 44 Affiliate members. The Board and its members currently use the IRES MLS system. An electronic lock box system is housed and managed at the Board office. A library of historical books, current information and 23 years of MLS books are available for member use.
